Welcome to another anime unboxing here at Japan Curiosity, as usual, we have provided a selection of photographs of the release that will hopefully highlight some points of interest. We also have a video unboxing for you if you prefer.
So without further ado let’s get to the unboxing of The Heroic Legend of Arslan Series 1 Part 2 from Universal Pictures UK.
Now let’s get started, as you can see this release follows the same format that we have seen in the previous The Heroic Legend of Arslan set and the two Seraph of the End sets. As you’d expect we have the familiar detachable J-Card/Information Sheet which contains all of the series information synopsis, technical details and certifications meaning the box itself is free to feature some full artwork.
So as you have noticed from the pictures above we’re taking a look at the Blu-ray version of this release. It’s available on both Blu-ray and DVD as has been the case with the previous release, and aside from the format of the discs, the set is completely identical. So here with have the front and back covers feature some really nice full artwork and the spine with the series title.
Next, up we have a series of art cards twelve to be exact much like The Heroic Legend of Arslan Series 1 Part 1 set. These art cards again like the previous set were character illustrations that appeared at the end of each episode in the series. A really nice addition to any Collector’s Edition as they feature some really nice artwork by different artists given their take on the characters.
The poster this time comes double-sided with character art, the previous set’s poster included a map of the world and was used as part of the board game. This poster is very much like a standard poster like we have seen in the Seraph of the End sets, however, this one features different artwork to what’s featured on the rigid box.
As with Part 1 and Seraph of the End sets, we have another selection of character cards. I suppose if you own both sets then you could possibly have yourself a very small game top trump style who knows. We have also included the exclusive pre-order bonus Silver Mask card that you can only obtain if you bought the set through Anime-on-Line, United Publications or Zoom.co.uk. Alternatively, Universal Pictures UK and All the Anime will have the exclusive Silver Mask card available at conventions such as MCM Comic Con.
As usual, we have an impressive Visual Guide to accompany the series which also doubles, up as a Key Animation Book. Inside you’ll find character information, concept designs and much more. It’s definitely worth having a look through.
Next, we have the digipack complete with impressive artwork on both the front and back. The discs themselves, unfortunately, contain a lot of logo’s and certificates which is something we’ll just have to get used to. Under then discs, though, once you’ve manages to pry the discs (without breaking them) from the holder we have some more artwork.
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to describe a Collector’s Edition from Universal Pictures UK as anything other than impressive. I’m still impressed at the price point for this Collector’s Edition given the amount of items included when compared to those from other distributors.
Well, that’s it from us here at Japan Curiosity we hope you enjoyed our unboxing of The Heroic Legend of Arslan Series 1 Part 2. Let us know your thoughts on this release and be sure to check out our review of the series (when it’s live) and enter our competition for a chance to win yourself a copy.
