The Deer King In UK Cinemas from July 27th

Anime Limited have announced that Masashi Ando’s directorial debut The Deer King will head to selected UK cinemas from July 27th. 

Masashi Ando’s resume features the likes of Chief Animation Director on films from Studio Ghibli including Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. He was also Animation Director for Satoshi Kon’s Paprika and Makoto Shinkai’s Your Name

The Deer King will be shown in selected cinemas nationwide from 27th July 2022 in Japanese with English subtitles, as well as an English-language dub from 28th July 2022. The film is rated 15.

In the aftermath of a brutal war, former soldier Van toils in a mine controlled by the ruling empire. One day, his solitary existence is upended when a pack of wild dogs carrying a deadly and incurable disease attack, leaving only Van and a young girl named Yuna as survivors.
