There was definitely clear rumblings of an issue with StudioCanal’s Blu-ray release of When Marnie Was There from people that had received their copies early and this issue only grow as the release date passed. Much to the annoyance of many customers it has taken some time for StudioCanal to even acknowledge the issue.
Finally, StudioCanal has confirmed that there is an issue regarding the Blu-ray disc and it’s performance in some players and have issued a statement detailing how affected customers can get a replacement Blu-ray disc.
StudioCanal’s official statement:
We have established that there is a player-specific problem affecting the When Marnie Was There Blu-ray disc. A new disc is being replicated and will be available in the coming weeks in October.
Most customers will not experience any issues with playback of the Blu-ray but if you have been affected, you can send your faulty Blu-ray disc along with your name, address and e-mail to:
