The first trailer for the second Persona 3 movie has been released via the official website. The website states that the movie will be in Japanese theatres in early summer 2014 and also gives details of the Japanese Blu-Ray and DVD release for the first movie.
Persona 3: The Movie #2 Midsummer Knight’s Dream continues where the first movie left off and covers the summer part of the game where the SEES team meet Aigis, the experimental anti-shadow weapon, during their summer vacation trip to the beach in Yakushima.
Details have also been updated regarding the staff and cast behind the movie. The cast remains unchanged except of the additions of Maaya Sakamoto as Aigis and Megumi Ogata as Ken Amada. The staff involved has changed slightly with new chief animation directors and a new director in Tomohisa Taguchi who replaces Noriaki Akitaya.
The biggest question for us in the UK though is when will we see the first movie released in the west. Given the popularity of Persona 4: The Animation and Persona 4: The Golden in the UK there is no doubt that we will see both movie’s get a release here but it’s just a matter of when, also fingers crossed for a future cinema screening in the UK.
