Eureka Entertainment to Release Madhouse’s 2001 Anime Film Metropolis

Eureka Entertainment announced via Facebook that they will be releasing Madhouse‘s 2001 animation feature film Metropolis. Based on Osamu Tezuka‘s 1949 manga of the same name Metropolis boasts talents in the form of Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira) as script writer and director Rintaro (X/1999). The film itself draws more comparisons with Fritz Lang‘s 1927 silent film Metropolis of which Tezuka’s work was loosely based upon.

No release date has currently been announced but we do know this release is set to be a dual format edition featuring both Blu-ray and DVD. We’ll keep you updated on this release as we know more.
