Two months ago Eureka Entertainment announced that they would be releasing Madhouse’s 2001 animation feature film Metropolis in the UK. Fast forward till now and they have finally announced a release date and confirmed that the Dual Format release will come in SteelBook form.
The Metropolis Limited Edition SteelBook will be limited to 2000 units and will be available on 16th January 2016, a standard edition will be available on 13th March 2017.

Based on Osamu Tezuka‘s 1949 manga of the same name Metropolis boasts talents in the form of Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira) as scriptwriter and director Rintaro (X/1999). The film itself draws more comparisons with Fritz Lang‘s 1927 silent film Metropolis of which Tezuka’s work was loosely based upon.
