Code Geass Compilation Film Trilogy & Sequel Anime Announced!

2016 seems to be the year of 10th anniversaries, we finally see the release of Final Fantasy XV today after 10 long years since it was first announced as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, it has also been 10 years since the first season of Code Geass. At an event this past Sunday, Sunrise announced that Code Geass will be receiving a 10th-anniversary project in the form a three-part film compilation series as well as a brand new sequel.

The three-part film compilation series will recap the entirety of the original series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and sequel Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. The first film will open in 2017 in Japan and will feature re-recorded dialogue and new scenes.

The sequel project titled Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection) has been confirmed by staff that Lelouch will appear in the new project but no details on the format of the project have been announced. The story itself is set to take place several years after Lelouch’s “Zero Requiem” plan.
