It’s been over a week now since the launch of the Animax application on UK PlayStation 3 but how does it work?
“ANIMAX is an online anime film and TV series streaming service offering anime titles in the quickest and simplest way. ANIMAX gives you on-demand access to unlimited anime titles. Watch your favourite titles instantly on PC or Mac. Enjoy unlimited anime for only £5.99 per month.
Watch anime, anytime, anywhere!” (@Animax UK)
Animax UK offers great titles such as Black Lagoon, Code Geass and Death Note as well as a simulcast service including Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, Magi and Nisekoi. This is now all available to watch via your PlayStation 3.
The PS3 application is a free download via ‘My Channels’ in the TV section on your XMB (Xross Media Bar), and works similar to services such as Netflix and LoveFilm. The service is subscription based so a fee is required to access most content, although the latest episodes that are simulcast are free for a limited time as opposed to Crunchyroll where the newest episode requires a premium account.
The subscription service costs £5.99 a months and gives you access to a range of different series across the Animax catalogue, Animax also offer a two week trial which if not cancelled will roll onto the £5.99 monthly subscription.
