Kagerou Project

The Kagerou Project (Heat Haze Project) is a series of vocaloid songs by Shizen no Teki-P (Jin). The story follows Shintaro Kisaragi who after a cetain event in his life,  ends up shutting himself inside his room for 2 years, becoming a NEET. During his time of isolation, he becomes addicted to the internet and after opening an annonymous e-mail a cyber girl named Ene appears on his screen. After Ene messes up Shintaro’s PC he has to go to out into the world for first time in 2 years…

Here is the first song in the series, Jinzou Enemy with a fanmade video and English subtitles:

As well as the music, the project has an ongoing Manga series published in the monthly magazine Comic Gene , as well as four novels with a fifth one on the way.
This April the project is getting an anime adapatation called Mekaku City Actors, directed by Akiyuki Shinbou who is a busy director, I mean really busy. Since his directorial debut in 1994 with Metal Fighter Miku , he has directed several very popular anime series and a number of Shaft’s most famous series including Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei , The Monogatari series , Madoka Magica and even the currently airing Nisekoi which he’s directing alongside Naoyuki Tatsuwa .

In the February 2014 issue of Comic Gene, Jin stated that he will be the scriptwriter and manage the background music of the anime and that the story of the anime will be different from the manga and novel adaptations.
