The live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell is less than two weeks away from its theatrical release and what better way to get into the mood or ignore its existence with some classic Ghost in the Shell anime! In stark contrast to last week, there are extra helpings of Manga and some Game releases that may peak some interest.
Manga Entertainment are going all out in a major way this week with a number of Ghost in the Shell re-releases and some seeing a Blu-ray release for the first time in the UK. The original Ghost in the Shell, Ghost in the Shell Movie Double Pack and Ghost in the Shell: SAC Solid State Society all come to Blu-ray and DVD. Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex: The Laughing Man and Individual 11 come to DVD while their new Blu-ray counterparts have been delayed until 22nd May. Also from Manga Entertainment are the Power Rangers: Green With Evil and The Best of Blue DVD sets.
Funimation fills out the week with a Blu-ray release for Heavy Object Season 1 Part 1. While slated for release next week, 27th March, All the Anime have been fulfilling orders early for Mobile Suit Gundam Movie Trilogy, you can see our unboxing video for that here.
What a difference a week makes, especially when it comes to Manga releases as this week is a total beast featuring some great series that we’re sure are set to please many fans. If you’re still riding high on the Zelda hype train then it might be worth checking out The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess manga from Viz Media. Elsewhere there’s more Accel World, Durarara!!, Prison School and much, much more.
Lastly this week, NIS America bring us more Touhou goodness in the form of Touhou Genso Wanderer for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita and finally, Koei Tecmo release Toukiden 2 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and Steam.
