One Piece Film Gold to Open in Japan on 23rd July

It was revealed in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump’s first issue of 2016 that the 13th One Piece movie will open in Japan on 23rd July and is titled One Piece Film Gold.

Original manga creator Eiichiro Oda will serve as executive producer on the movie as he did previously with One Piece Film Z. Hiroaki Miyamoto (One Piece eps 352-679, One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island) will be directing and Tsutomu Kuroiwa (live-action Black Butler film, live-action Liar Game: The Final Stage film, live-action The Perfect Insider TV series) is penning the script.

One Piece Film Gold is the first feature length movie to be released since 2012’s One Piece Film Z that was released earlier year on Blu-ray and DVD from Manga UK.

Weekly Shonen Jump’s second issue of 2016, on sale December 14, will reveal some bonus extra that fans can expect to receive when purchasing tickets.
