The internet exploded yesterday, with news of the newest addition to the Pokémon library being announced. The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo have stated that Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire will be released worldwide in November of this year for the Nintendo 3DS. “Prepare for an epic adventure exploring a world filled with Pokémon!”
Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire were originally released for the GameBoy Advance back in 2003 as the third generation of Pokémon games. They are now receiving the same makeover treatment that previous generations have had in the past, reviving an old story for a new generation of Pokémon fans. While no one will be shocked by this release, as it seemed inevitable based on Nintendo’s history, it has arrived later than most would have expected.
As someone who somehow missed out on the third generation of Pokémon, I will be eagerly awaiting this release.
