The 1/100 MG MSN-02 Perfect Zeong is a beautiful master grade 1/100th scale model, standing at around 36cm tall.

The Zeong was piloted by Char Aznable at the end of Mobile Suit Gundam. However, in the anime series it was deemed as incomplete, due to it it’s lack of legs.

As the model is Master Grade there is a lot of parts that need to be put together.

The building of this model is more involved than most, this model utilities screws so the owner of the model can freely move certain parts of the mecha’s body. The building itself is fairly straight forward and the particular model has very sturdy pieces, with a few tricky parts but is still a fun build. The instruction booklet begins with the building of the arms followed by the cockpit then the head of the model.

After these parts are built you begin to build the legs which were defiantly the most difficult part of building this model. The sole reason of this is because the legs can be detached from the Zeong’s body so it resembles the model exactly in the anime. Of course, in order for the full model to stand up straight with its legs attached there must be a locking mechanism to attach the leg’s to the torso.

As you can see from the image on the legs there are two circles, which can be put into the torso and once rotated they lock onto the torso so the model can be stand stable.

Finally, after putting the whole model together you can begin to build the weapons for your particular model. The Zeong’s main weapon in the series was the wire-guided 5-barrel mega particle gun. The forearms of the mecha would detach from the main body and they were remotely maneuvered with micro thrusters. The forearms are guided by thick wires that communicate with the pilot’s thoughts through a particular system called psycommu (powerful thought waves similar to regular brainwaves but are not electrical in nature).

The actual gunpla allows the de-attachment of the forearms to act as weapons and also comes with a big sword, which is an added bonus!

With the additional of the legs and sword it’s nice to see what the final model would look like if Zeon had more time to finish it.

It was an amazing build and beautiful to look at a huge recommendation to any Char fan’s out there!
